Blog: Community Feature for the Month of December

Before we close out 2025, meet our community feature this December. Meet Mr. Khaled Al Dhareri, an IT Operations Manager supporting SEHA hospitals in the Al Ain region, who found joy in real cacao despite multiple intolerances. From hot chocolate to pure cacao rituals, Co Chocolat became part of his everyday life.

Q&A

1. How and when did you first hear about Co Chocolat?
I saw a post on Instagram related to chocolate, where it is sourced from a farm directly which got me interested. Then I explore into the account and from there I checked the website. Iman one of the owners communcated with me through instagram, whatsapp eariler  when the business what still new to take my opinion & feedback on the products I ordered and she have sent me gifts many times thanks for her and the team. My biggest issue is the lactose, gluten, honey and egg intolerance. I found something that I can buy being vegan which can support my situation with the intolerances, although I am not vegan. There is no reason for me to be 100% because other food is importnat. What I mean is this a big support for my intolerances issues to be able to enjoy taste chocolate. Co-Chocalat got me interested in the hot chocolate, cacao powder and other things that paired with my coffee. Then I started to make also mocha and Asian style of cappuccino where its topped with cacao powder. Recently, my wife Shizo and I visited Co-Chocalat where she wanted to create cakes, snacks and sweets suitable for my intolerance issues and I brought her there because it is the perfect place to buy raw materials in the UAE and she became passionate in making snacks for me and for her in a healthy way. She is an amazing baker 💕.

2. How would you describe your work, vocation, or passion, and what do you find most fulfilling about it?
I work as an IT Operations Manager in Al Ain Region under Seha Hopsitals. My work is very senstive where I need to make sure the IT Operations are stable in the region. During vacation I might travel or have a staycation in the UAE and explore different placed. Our work is about mainly patient care where the I.T. is Currently a core to every business success. I love my job as it is my first ever and I have been workinv got 19 years in this field where the team makes me feel my work place is a another place which is interesting apart of what I do at home.

3. How have your life experiences and exposure to different cultures shaped your perspective on the world?
Since my childhood as an Emirati, I grew in a neighborhood where there are different nationalities like Egyptians, Palestinians, Syrians, Canadians, Sudanese, Somalians, Indians, Pakistani and more. With different cultures where I learned to blend my self naturally. The world is an interesting place that deserves to be seen. I have mainly traveled within Asia like Thailand, Singapore and Japan. I would like to see other countries and to get to see different cultures, food, language and site seeing.

4. Do you have any advice for our community, especially for those who are still exploring their path?
Depends what they are trying to get, is it just buy ready made chocolate or enjoy your self in their dine in menu or buy raw materials ro do things alone at home. My advise visit the factory and have a tour first and understand from the team personally what you are trying to get and choose what suites you because the place provide chocolates from different range and if you are lactose intolerant, nuts intolerant they have got you covered. Co-Chocalat have got it all.

5. Which Co Chocolat products do you love the most?
You might not believe it, but my most favorite is 100% pure, untempered cacao in cacao-shaped tablets and the Cacao Powder because like Coffee I love how Pure Cacao taste 😁
