From Restriction to Renewal: Marwa’s Journey with Food

Meet Marwa, holistic nutritionist and founder of Pomodoro Nutrition. Her journey with food is rooted in lived experience and shaped by a deep belief that wellbeing should feel nourishing, balanced, and sustainable — never restrictive. A voice in wellness that truly aligns with the Co Chocolat way.
1. How and when did you first hear about Co Chocolat?
I first heard about Co Chocolat during a nutrition counseling session with the inspiring Ms. Iman Sguitan, co-founder of Co Chocolat. As she shared her journey and deep passion for creating genuinely healthy chocolate products, I was immediately drawn in. What started as a conversation quickly turned into a meaningful connection… We realized we share the same core values and purpose: nourishing the body without deprivation, and proving that food can be both deeply nourishing and truly pleasurable. Co Chocolat perfectly embodies the idea that health and enjoyment don’t have to be opposites.
2. How would you describe your work, vocation, or passion, and what do you find most fulfilling about it?
My passion for holistic nutrition was born from a very personal struggle. For years, I was stuck in a cycle of restrictive dieting followed by binge eating, which deeply impacted not only my physical health, but also my emotional and mental wellbeing. That experience shaped the foundation of my work today.
Through Pomodoro Nutrition, my mission goes far beyond food plans or calories. I support my clients through a truly holistic and functional approach, by addressing nutrition, but also emotional health, stress management, sleep quality, gut health, hormones, mindset, and the environments they live and work in.
What I find most fulfilling is helping people rebuild trust with their bodies and create sustainable habits that align with their values, culture, and lifestyle. Habits they can maintain for life, not just for a few weeks.

3. How have your life experiences and exposure to different cultures shaped your perspective on the world?
Being born and raised in Tunisia, then studying in France and Brazil, working in Italy, and eventually settling in the UAE (where I founded Pomodoro Nutrition in 2019) has deeply shaped my worldview. These experiences taught me that there is no single “right” way of living, eating, or healing.
Culture, environment, traditions, and access to food all play a huge role in how we nourish ourselves, manage stress, and grow as individuals.
Living across cultures also helped me become more comfortable with change, seeing it as an opportunity rather than a threat, a skill I’m still consciously developing. This openness allows me to coach clients from all over the world with empathy, curiosity, and respect. Our differences are not something to fight against; they are something to honor and celebrate.
4. Do you have any advice for our community, especially for those who are still exploring their path?
Prioritize your wellbeing, holistically. Yes, nourishing food is essential and non-negotiable, but it’s only one piece of the puzzle. Move your body in ways you enjoy, prioritize quality sleep, and practice mindfulness not only while eating, but also while reading, working, traveling, and connecting with others.
Surround yourself with people who make you feel safe, supported, and seen. Learn to say no to toxic environments, habits, or relationships, and protect your boundaries unapologetically. Taking care of yourself is not selfish, it’s foundational.

5. Which Co Chocolat products do you love the most?
Honestly… it’s hard to choose! I genuinely love everything Co Chocolat creates. That said, my absolute favorite is the Hazelnut Gianduja Spread, hands down the tastiest and cleanest chocolate spread I’ve ever had. It’s indulgent, satisfying, and made with ingredients I truly trust.
My second favorite is the That Skinny chocolate bar. The smooth dark chocolate paired with crunchy nuts, healthy fats, fiber, and a perfectly balanced sweetness makes it both nourishing and deeply satisfying. And I’m so excited to discover the new diabetic-friendly, stevia-sweetened chocolate bars… can’t wait for their launch!
